Wednesday’s edition of The Sun included a Q&A with wide receiver [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Due to space limitations, some questions and answers were omitted. Here is the rest of our conversation.
Question: Would you call yourself a perfectionist?
Answer: I like to be. Definitely.
Q: Can that drive to be perfect be a positive and negative influence at times?
A: Yeah. I think it can be a strong point and it can be a weakness. A lot of times, I won’t stop until I have it right, and a lot of times, you can overwork yourself in one department when you’re trying to reach perfection.
Q: You were a quarterback until your freshman year at Florida State. What convinced you to switch to wide receiver?
A: When I got to college,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Chris Weinke was our starting quarterback. He was a junior, and I didn’t want to wait two years to get on the field. I felt like I wanted to play right away, and I felt that playing receiver was my best way to get on the field.
Q: Who’s the toughest cornerback you’ve faced in your career?
A: For me, honestly, that’s hard to say because in Arizona, we never faced a lot of man coverage. Every time we played somebody, they went to zone or got somebody to help, stuff like that. So I can’t really say.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: Harlem Nights. For me, it’s classic. It’s probably one of the funniest movies you’ll ever see. I’ve seen it at least 50 times.
Q: What’s your go-to meal and what’s one food you will not touch?
A: I’m a big pasta guy, so chicken alfredo might be my go-to meal. I know that’s a big sin [to his daily diet], but if I get one cheat meal, that would be it. One thing that l would stay away from is chitlins. I would never touch them. Never. I’ve smelled, and that’s enough for me.
Q: Is there an athlete or entertainer you would pay to see?
A: I would pay to see Floyd Mayweather. Here you have a guy that talks a lot, but he backs it up. I think the thing that people don’t understand about him is how much he puts into it, how much hard work he puts into it. Even when guys are sleeping, he’s in the gym working out and trying to get better. So he’s definitely a guy I would pay to see.
Q: Did you watch ESPN’s “30 For 30” on Mike Tyson and what did you think of that documentary?
A: I thought it was interesting. The thing with him was, he left so much on the table. I mean, I think his career could have been a lot better than the way it ended. It’s kind of disappointing to see a guy with that much promise have his career end the way that it did.
